I don’t understand how students get so far behind in easy classes. It is not really that hard to do your work when you are told to do it. I understand people learn and struggle with different things, but still. Our assignments are pretty easy to complete if you do them on time like you’re supposed to. What’s the point of waiting til the night before and causing yourself that much unneeded stress? It’s ridiculous. Especially this late in the year. Why complain about it NOW when there’s only about three weeks left? Just put a brave face on and tough it out. It’s almost summer, and that should be enough motivation to complete this year. How can you be upset when a perfect, breezy, 83-degree day is just waiting outside your window. All the beautiful little flowers are blooming, the lake is warming up, animals are showing more often… How can everyone be so focused on one assignment being due that they’ve had MONTHS to complete? I don’t see the logic.
I cannot wait for summer. Staying up all night at the lake, swimming and fishing with the sun on my back, and then waking up early and doing it all over again. Camping is life, no matter what season, but the warm temperatures make it much more enjoyable. Friends, family, food. That basically sums up my summer routine (and the occasional work). I can already feel myself kicking into my summer routine. It feels pretty good too. Staying up late all night, talking to old friends, making some new ones. The doors and windows staying open 24/7 and listening to the sounds of the crickets chirping for the summer that’s about to come. It’s like being on the slow part of a rollercoaster, where you’re inching up, up, up, excited and scared for the big drop ahead.
Which reminds me of Saturday (like I could forget). At the end of every year, band goes to a competition or a regional assessment which is always somehow conveniently by an amusement park. So this Saturday, I will depart on my way at five in the morning, six hours on a bus to St. Louis. Nothing like getting home at midnight the night before, sleeping three hours, and then going on a band trip. May is definitely the best time of year.
